Cybersecurity M.S. Program Designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.

In October 2023 the City College Cybersecurity M.S. Program was awarded its designation as one of the National Security Agency’s Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.  This is the first program in the CUNY system to receive such a designation.  This designation is a recognition of the rigorous academic standards of the program and demonstrates that the program curriculum was vetted and put through a stringent validation process.

As described by the U.S. Department of Defense, “the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program is managed by the National Cryptologic School at the National Security Agency. Federal Partners include the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The NCAE-C program office collaborates closely with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)/National Initiative on Cybersecurity Education (NICE), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Defense Office of the Chief Information Officer (DoD-CIO), and US Cyber Command (CYBERCOM).”

With the NSA’s CAE-CD designation the Cybersecurity Program’s students and faculty will have access to additional funding and learning opportunities.  Read more on the designation announcement on the CUNY website: https://www1.cuny.edu/mu/forum/2023/12/27/ccnys-cybersecurity-masters-program-is-designated-as-a-national-center-of-academic-excellence-in-cyber-defense/.
